Shivanya and her relative Shesha are female shape-shifting serpents, or Ichchhadhari Naagins, who wish to exact revenge on Shivanya’s parents’ passing. Naagin begins with Shivanya and Shesha. Only three of the five murderers—Ankush, Viren, and Shailesh—were visible to Shivanya. They murdered Shivanya’s parents in an unsuccessful attempt to obtain the Naagmani, a priceless jewel endowed with magical abilities.
